Fighting Aging Effects With Phytoceramides

Phytoceramides are a natural plant protein, which when used effectively replaces and fulfills the role of ceramides in the body. The replacement is needed because the ceramides which are natural to human bodies will tend to decrease with age. The decrease in the levels leaves the skin dehydrated and prone to effects such as dark spots, wrinkles and fine lines among others. These plain proteins therefore work amazingly well in boosting the diminishing levels to keep the skin looking radiant even as you age.
Phytoceramides work by hydrating and moisturizing the skin. They improve on its look by reducing the appearance of wrinkles and lines. Additionally, it is believed that this plant compound also helps enhance the look of the nails. By retaining natural moisture through the creation of a water barrier, they work effectively for many. The supplement is most ideal for an individual suffering from eczema, psoriasis, dry skin and other skin texture and tone related issues. Since they are made from natural ingredients, the users stand to reap more benefits when taking the supplements especially since they are loaded with vitamins.
The Options
  • Topical Solutions:
Ceramides have been in use in anti-aging topical creams for a long time. They, however show little or no results for some. It could be because creams take much longer to be absorbed into the body and there are no guarantees that they will work wonders especially since different skin types will react differently to them. Even though they have worked for some, they provide only superficial results.
  • Face Lifts:
Face lifts are a medical procedure many have opted for to battle the signs of aging. Even though they work, they can deliver negative results for some. They are also very expensive and not affordable to everyone. They require a lot of attention and care to deliver the desired results. You will also need to endure lots of pain to reap the results that you are looking for.
  • The Supplements:
The Phytoceramide-containing supplements are perhaps the best anti-aging solution available today. Apart from being natural all the way, they are broken down effectively before being absorbed into the bloodstream. Thus they reverse the aging effects not only superficially but also from within. The oral supplements will therefore deliver better and effective results as compared to the rest of the options. There are very good products which have been researched and tested to ensure that they are safe and effective for human consumption eliminating all doubt there could be.
The best wrinkle product for you is one that is made of natural ingredients. This way, you will be sure that nothing will go wrong for as long as you choose to use the supplements. It is therefore of great importance to know what product you are going for and how effective it is going to be in fighting aging effects. When you have the right one, you will for sure enjoy a more radiant and youthful look for a longer period.

"Bad Skin" Bridal Makeup Tips

1. Hope for a cloudy day!
Photos done under cloudy days create a beautiful 'mist' that diffuses the light captured in photography and to the naked eye in person.
These are the times where even photographers are often quite happy because their camera settings stay consistent throughout the day and it's not boiling hot to run around all day.
The pictures can turn out still very bright and not moody at all, it all depends on the photographer's settings.
With diffused light, your problematic skin will look more flat and smooth, rather than 'bumpy' and textured.
2. Opt for a good skincare regime at least 6 weeks before your wedding.
The earlier you have a good skincare regime going for you, including diet, sleep schedule, exercise, the better your skin will appear.
This tip is extremely important because your skin turns over every 2 weeks. Everything you do during this time will have what you will look like in 2 weeks.
For example, if you have bad skin currently, it's from what you were doing to yourself 2 weeks ago.
3. Don't have photos done in the morning.
Often times in the morning light, it can pick up more 'full coverage' of makeup used to conceal the problematic skin.
It is more forgiving in the afternoon where the light is more warm and glowing.
4. See a naturopath for tips on detoxing.
Skip the dermatologist because more often than most clients, they have been to the dermatologist only to have been prescribed drugs and steroids to apply that only thin out the skin.
Opt for a more natural way to detox the body.
The skin is the largest organ of your body and when your liver isn't clearing out the toxins, your skin is trying to do that for you.
It's a sign to look at something that your body is trying to tell you. Perhaps it is that you are sensitive to a certain group of foods that you are eating, or that you need to relax more and de-stress yourself.
Listen to your body, what is it telling you?
5. Use natural products and methods to help heal your skin.
The earth has abundance in what it can do to help restore your body back to it's balanced healthy state.
Earthing (putting your barefeet in the grass and soil for at least 10 min a day) helps drain away any electricity that is 'bad' for you, grounding it back into the earth. It's proven in many articles that this tip works.
Personally I've tried this method and I can confirm that it does de-stress me, in addition to spending time in the sun and nature that re-charges your body.
We are nature beings, don't forget that fact that we came from nature so to recharge, spending time outdoors definitely helps bring the body back in balance.
Tea tree oil, african black soap are two ingredients to make your very own cleanser. You can use it to cleanse your face and body that helps clear out any acne and bacteria on the surface of your skin. You can read up many articles on different recipes on how to treat the skin organically.
In Summary,
Your skin is just telling you that there is something that you need to pay attention to.
While you have time before the wedding day, pay attention to some of the signs you can do to de-stress yourself before the planning and 'stress' that may build up before the special day.

Natural Makeup For African American Skin Tones

Getting that flawless look can be unnerving at times especially if you fail to find or use the right makeup to achieve the look. Even celebrities end up with makeup failure once or twice in their lives. It is especially difficult for women of color especially those with African-American skin tone to find their perfect shade. With that said, it is not surprising that they stick to the brand that matches their color. If you or someone you know has darker skin tone then do not fret. There are many brands out there that now offer makeup that matches one's skin color.
Foundation of your Make-up Kit
If this is the first time that you would be shopping for your make up kit, opt to visit a beauty store to know the shade that would best match your skin color. Many beauty stores employ professionals and they will test some shades and find the right one for you. If you are interested in doing this by yourself, then the first thing that you need would be a foundation. Foundations cover up blemishes in the skin, so your skin will look even. Opt for foundations that are yellow-based as it will go well for darker skin tones. Light foundation will make your face look pale and chalky so stay away from those colors unless you are attending a costume party and want to look like a dead individual.
You can also combine two shades if you cannot find the perfect shade that matches your skin. Also opt for a natural mineral foundation so that it will not clog your pores and you can blend it well as cake foundation takes longer time to put on. To highlight the cheekbones area, a brown or copper bronzer would work best.
African-American women have one of the best sets of eyes and the best way to complement this is by using eye shadows that shimmer. Some also opt for metallic ones to give that sense of drama and, with some black mascaras; it makes the eyes stand out dramatically.
It is best to avoid red or loud colors when it comes to lipstick and instead, choose lipsticks that are earth tones. One can also use a lip liner in the same shade to blend it well with the rest of the lips and add some glam as well.
These are just some of the things that one might want to add to their beauty kit. You can experiment to find which works best for you. Best of all; choose makeup that is made of natural minerals as these makeups contain the necessary minerals that would benefit your skin without clogging your pores.

A Review of the Evolution of Man Set (Safari Ltd)

The Evolution of Man Model Set Reviewed
Safari Ltd, based in the United States of America, have introduced a set of five figures that represent the evolution of mankind. Available in a blister pack, the replicas show what palaeontologists believe some of our ancestors may have looked like. Accompanying a model of a caveman (our own species, H. sapiens), there is a Neanderthal, H. erectus as well as Homo habilis and a replica of an Australopithecine (A. afarensis).
This set is going to prove very handy for teachers as they discuss topics such as evolution. This new for 2014 blister pack has come out just in time as teaching teams prepare to introduce a new national curriculum in the United Kingdom from September 2014.
Hand-Painted Australopithecines and Hominins
The figures range in size from six and a half centimetres tall (the Australopithecine), to over eight centimetres tall (Neanderthal and the Cro Magnon/Clovis man). It could be argued that these figures are roughly in the correct scale to each other, as A. afarensis, an upright walking ape, was much smaller than a modern person.
The Famous "Lucy" Fossil
The famous, Australopithecine fossil known as "Lucy" represents a member of the Australopithecines, specifically A. afarensis. The highly fragmentary fossils of an ape that walked upright was found in Ethiopia in 1979. As the Beatles track "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" was being played in the camp at the time, the scientists decided to call their fossil specimen "Lucy". The A. afarensis model in the Safari Ltd figure set, is standing upright (indicating the evolution of a bipedal stance), it is also holding a bone, suggesting primitive tool use.
Homo habilis - Comes Next
Next in the series is the slightly bigger model of H. habilis. Although the replica does have very ape-like facial features and it is naked, it is holding a stone tool, a simple worked hand-axe and using a long staff to assist walking. The model demonstrates the genus known as "handy man" one of the first members of the hominins to be recognised in the fossil record.
Homo erectus - The Use of Fire
The next model in the five figure set is that of a H. erectus, a hominin that is believed to have worn simple clothes and manipulated fire. The figure is holding a lighted torch and the facial features are distinctly more human in form.
Homo neanderthalensis and Modern Man
The final two figures in the series represent a Neanderthal complete with wooden spear and pony tail and a model human, Stone Age figure. We are not sure whether the modern human figure represents the Cro Magnon culture of Europe or the Clovis culture of North America. The human figure is equipped with a spear and spear throwing device. The spear is stone tipped, indicating progression from the Neanderthal culture. There is also a necklace of animal teeth which can be clearly seen.
Highly Recommended
The figures are well painted and they will make useful additions to a school's teaching resources as well as proving to be a novel and unusual figure set for the dinosaur model collector. Highly recommended.

Tips To Understanding Keratin Treatment

Keratin Treatment is used by many people to straighten the curls from their hair. Keratin hair straightening is considered to be one of the best methods for pulling the curl out because keratin is something that is naturally produced by your hair.
When you have a keratin hair straightening product applied to your hair the stylist that is doing the Keratin Treatment will apply the product to your hair, and then they will use a flat iron and seal the keratin in the hair. This can be a time consuming process depending on the length, and thickness of your hair.
One of the main reasons why people choose to have a Keratin Treatment done is because they usually wear straight hair styles. You can achieve straight hair styles at home using a blow dryer, and a flat iron. Having your locks straightened using keratin hair straightening products will allow you to reduce your styling time by as much as sixty percent.
Another reason why women spend time and money getting a Keratin Treatment is that once this protein is infused into the hair the hair will not frizz. It will not matter how high the humidity is, or how moist the air is, their locks will remain frizz free without adding any other chemicals to keep it that way.
You should be cautious about washing your hair after you have gotten one of these hair treatments done. You want to give the solution that was put into your locks plenty of time to start working before you wash your locks. It is recommended that you wait at least four days before you wash your hair after the solution has been applied.
Once the waiting period is over you will want to shampoo with a sodium-sulfate-free shampoo to protect the solution in your hair. Other types of shampoo may strip the solution from the hair and cause you to lose the effects of the keratin more quickly than you should.
If you take proper care of your hair after receiving a Keratin Treatment you can expect it to last about ten to twelve weeks before you need to have it done again. Some of the time period that the solution works will be dependent upon the exact amount of curl that is in your hair, the length of your hair, and the way you have cared for the hair.
You might hear people tell you that keratin hair straightening will cause your hair to break. The truth of this is that the most likely culprit causing the breakage of the hair in people who have had this solution applied is the flat irons they are using to create the smooth styles they desire. Too much heat, or too frequently applied heat, can, and will damage your hair. You must take a break occasionally and allow your hair to have time to recover from the constant heat of the flat irons, blow dryers, and other heat applications you use during daily styling.

Air Brush Tans Vs Traditional Spray Tans

For the past several years, more and more people are moving away from tanning booths. The health risks of constant sun tanning are well known, and few people are willing to risk their health for their skin's appearance. To account for the change, many booths have added some form of spray tanning to their services.
Spray tanning is the usage of a product/chemical (usually some form of DHA) to coat your skin with a layer of color that, while temporary, will give the appearance of a tan without any of the skin damage. These products are a far better option for people that are worried about their skin health. Still, there are different types of sprays available, so if you are looking at sunless tanning options, let the information below help you make your decision.
Traditional Spray Tans
The most common type of spray tan you will find is traditional. Traditional spray tanning can be found in tanning salons all over the country. This type of tanning is fairly straight forward. The recipient stands inside of a shower-like booth, and a variety of sprays envelop the individual from all sides, giving them a spray on tan all over their body. This type of spray tanning has evolved so that streaking is not that common, but it is slightly less exact. Also, many spray tanning booths only have one choice of color.
Airbrush Tanning
One of the newer forms of "spray tanning" is known as airbrush. Airbrush tanning is similar to spray method, but rather than having a shower-like machine spray you from head to toe, a human being sits around your body and airbrushes a layer of color all over your skin. There are several advantages to this method:
  • The trained airbrush tanner ensures that every inch of your skin is covered with an even layer.
  • You can choose to have a different level of color in your skin in a way that traditional spray on tanning doesn't provide.
However, because airbrush method is done by a human being rather than a machine, the costs change accordingly. It is generally far more expensive to get an airbrush than a spray on tan. But the results are better, and the skin tone you get can be more exact, which is preferable to many people. Airbrush tanning is the type of method that people use when they need the tan for acting, modeling, etc.
Choosing Your Spray on Tanning Option
Airbrush tanning is a superior method of applying tanning solution onto your skin. But that superiority comes with an increase in costs that make it not ideal for everyone. In addition, spray on tanning has evolved to the point where streaking and unevenness are far less common than they were five years ago. So if you have the extra cash, an airbrush tan is better, but if you choose to go with a traditional spray on tan instead you will still likely be satisfied with the results.
